The three most common central vacuum components purchased new or in replacement including a CT25 120V 14" wide premium electric power nozzle, 35 foot total control hose permitting independent control of the vacuum, or the vacuum and electric power nozzle from the three position switch in the hose handle, and an integrated telescopic electric wand to carry 120V power from the electric hose to the power nozzle. The direct connect designation indicates the 120V power is delivered the central vacuums inlet valve where the projecting pins on the hose insert into a 120V contact point on the inlet valve.

Common Questions:

Does the type of carpet I have influence what type of power nozzle I should buy?

Yes. Two developments in carpets have occurred in the past ten years. First the introduction of soft micro-fiber which makes for a soft feel but has increased density as a consequence. This density reduces the air flow through the carpet fibers and can reduce cleaning effectiveness as the nozzle seals to the carpet surface. The second development is sealing of the carpet backing to prevent spills from traveling into the under padding. This further reduces the air flow through the carpet. The CT25 has a self adjusting air relief that aids in free movement of the nozzle and provides air flow over the agitator increasing cleaning effectiveness.

What is most important in judging a power nozzle?

First cleaning effectiveness of embedded dirt. Embedded dirt can damage the carpet fibers as you walk over the surface and over time can impact on appearance and wear.  Second is surface grooming to maintain appearance where height adjustment helps to fit the brush to your floor surface. Third is edge cleaning preventing the half inch strip against a wall from being cleaned of debris. Finally easy of use. A double swivel neck design allows for more control of the nozzle when vacuuming around furnishings.

Compatbility:

Compatible with central vacuum inlets with contact points within the wall inlet where the hose is inserted. These two contact points meet the plates on the hose end to create the low voltage circuit to control the vacuum. This inlet design is the most common style installed by central vacuum professionals as it offers the most extensive feature options.
