Low voltage hoses permit on off control of the central vacuum using a two position switch in the hose handle. Low voltage hoses require a central vacuum inlet valve with two contact pins in the inlet valve stem to permit the circuit to properly function.
Low voltage hoses are typically used with standard straight air accessories like a floor brush or dusting tool. They are often combined with air turbine tools which use the airflow of the vacuum to spin an agitator for cleaning carpeted surfaces. Air turbine tools are not the ideal choice on modern soft carpeted surfaces as the dense pile of these carpets can reduce airflow and performance of the agitator. We would recommend one consider an electric power nozzle for cleaning soft carpets.
Low voltage hoses are not for use with electric power nozzles.
