Overview:

A universal use central vacuum crush proof total control hose 1.375" X 35 foot with gas pump handle, three position switch, and a universal wall end including an 8 foot 120 power cord. Total control indicates the three position switch allows for isolated control of the vacuum and/or the vacuum and an electric power nozzle. Universal identifies the 120V power for the power nozzle comes from plugging the 8 foot power cord into a standard 120V wall outlet. The wand connection from the hose is realized through a recessed plug position indicating the electric connection is set recessed at approximately .625"  to the face of the handle.

Features and Benefits:

• The gas pump handle provides a comfortable grip and easy access to the three position switch permitting operation of the vacuum alone, the vacuum and the power nozzle, and the centered off position where neither the vacuum nor the vacuum and power nozzle are on.
• The handle rotates 360 degrees reducing strain on the wrist and forearm during vacuuming. A secondary benefit of rotation is a reduction in hose kinking and resistance to free movement.

• The wall end is designed for use with industry standard inlet valves with two contact points within the wall valve connecting to the low voltage contact plates on the hose wall end. This low voltage connection permits control of your central vacuum from the three position switch.
• An eight foot power cord connects from the hose end to standard 120V wall outlets in your hose to provide the 120 volt power for an electric power nozzle.
• The electrical connection from the hose to your power nozzle wand is set recessed on the face of the handle. To confirm this hose is the right solution if your replacing an older hose look for the plug on the face of the handle under the metal stub tube is recessed approximately .625" to the face of the handle the most common positioning.

Common question:

Why are some total control hoses sold with a recessed plug position? 

Hoses are often purchased for replacement. Historically there were power nozzle solution which had a cord running up along the outside of the wands that plugged directly into the face of the hose handle. To comply with UL/ CSA standards this connection needed to be shielded as the cord engaged the handle to protect the user. Over time power nozzles with this connection have been replaced with wands that included a shield and or with power nozzle lacking this cord. To insure compatibility with historically sold product brands like Broan, Nutone, Vacumaid, and Imperium continued with the recessed plug. 

Compatibility:

The PL9302 central vacuum hose is compatible with major brands of central vacuum that sold power nozzle solutions fitted with a recessed plug position. Brands which frequently sold power nozzle solutions with a recessed plug include Broan-Nutone, Vacumaid, Imperium, some accessory solutions sold by Cen-Tec Systems.  What is important to recognize is the wall inlet valve has two contact points located inside the valve on the upper 180 degrees and the plug on the corresponding wand to the power nozzle is designed for a recessed plug.
