Overview:

A central vacuum universal total control accessory kit including a 1.375" X 35 foot total control premium vacuum hose allowing on off control of the central vacuum and or on off control of the central vacuum and the CT20QD electric power nozzle from a three position switch in the hose handle. A fully featured 14" wide power nozzle designed for vacuuming all types of carpet. A fully integrated telescopic electric wand connecting the hose to the power nozzle. A complete set of complimentary accessories for vacuuming hard floor surfaces and above the floor cleaning needs.

Features and benefits:

  • The 1.375" inner diameter smooth interior crush proof four wire hose delivers the power of your central vacuum to the electric power nozzle or cleaning accessories
  • The hose features a comfortable with three position switch that allows independent control of the central vacuum alone or the central vacuum and electric power nozzle
  • The wall end fits to industry stand inlet valves with low voltage contacts located within the wall inlet valve stem permitting control of the central vacuum from the hose handle.
  • An eight foot power cord which plugs into standard 120V electric outlets in the home provides the 120V power necessary to operate the CT20QD electric power nozzle.
  • The 14" CT20QD is a fully featured electric power nozzle for effective cleaning of embedded dirt from all carpet types.
  • The CT20QD has a chevron wood agitator which draws dirt and debris from the edges of the brush to the center for capture by the vacuums air stream.
  • The agitator is driven by a poly V belt which reduces vibration and nose during operation. The rive is inset away from the brush edges to allow for more effective edge cleaning.
  • The CT20QD has a three position height adjustment permits the agitator to align with the carpet for more effective capture of embedded dirt why providing superior surface grooming helping to maintain your carpets appearance.
  • The fully integrated telescopic electric wand connects the hose to the power nozzle and can be adjusted in length to comfortably fit the user.
  • Two additional button lock chrome wands can be used with the multi-surface cleaning nozzle for vacuuming hard floors, area rugs, and door mats without the need to change tools.
  • A premium set of natural fill dusting tool, 13" crevice, and upholstery tool with brush strip are included for above the floor cleaning needs.
  • A hose hanger for storage of the hose and a mesh caddy to hold the accessories are included.

Common questions:

What is meant by total control hose?

Total control indicates you can turn on the central vacuum alone for use when hard floor cleaning or above the floor cleaning or the central vacuum and the electric power nozzle at the same time for vacuuming carpeted surfaces. This is achieved through a three position switch in the hose handle. In the center position neither the vacuum nor the power nozzle will run. Switched left and only the central vacuum operates. Right both the central vacuum and electric power nozzle operate.

Can I use the CT20QD power nozzle on hard floor surfaces?

Yes. Make sure to turn off the power to the power nozzle by switching the three position switch to the left position. This will maintain airflow to the power nozzle but stop the agitator from spinning. You do not want to run the power nozzle agitator in hard floor surfaces and it will disperse debris and you have the risk of damage to the hard floor surface.

Will this work with all brands of central vacuums?

Typically yes. The most common type of central vacuum inlet valve has to small contact points within the inlet valve stem. These contact the two plates on the outside of the hose end creating a loop circuit to the switch in the hose handle allowing for control of central vacuum from the hose handle.

Are there inlet valves this will not work with?

Yes. There are proprietary inlet valves which do not have these contract points in the valve stem. The most common was sold by Vacu-Flow which had the low volt contact points made through a pin which was above the valve stem. There were also inlet sold with micro-switches in the past. You can easily recognize these as the vacuum comes on as soon as you open the inlet valve door.

What is meant by universal?

There were two common types of inlet valves sold with central vacuums. One is called direct connect. These inlets have both the low voltage for control of the central vacuum in the valve stem and 120V power located in the valve face to power the electric power nozzle. Universal indicates a hose end with an 8' power cord which will plug into to standard 120V electrical outlets in the home thus the term universal as these are common in every home.

Compatibility:

Compatible with all major brands of central vacuums installed with the industry common inlet valves with low voltage contacts located within the valve stem. You can confirm this by inspecting the inside of your inlet valve to confirm to small contact points are present. Knowing these are present this will work with major brands including Beam, Vacu-Flo, Vacumaid, MD Manufacturing, Imperium, Canavac, Cyclovac, OVO, Nutone, Broan, and many more.
