Overview:
A complete central vacuum accessory set for carpet and hard floor cleaning including a 1.375" X 35 foot direct connect total control electric hose with three position switch allowing for control of the central vacuum alone, and or the central vacuum and electric power nozzle from a three position switch in the hose handle. A CT20QD 14" wide fully featured electric power nozzle for vacuuming of all carpet types. A fully integrated telescopic wand connecting the hose to the power nozzle. A second set of button lock wands for use of the all surfaces combination nozzle connecting to the hose. A complete set of above the floor cleaning accessories including dusting tool, crevice tool, and upholstery tool.
Features and benefits:
- The 1.375" inner diameter total control hose has a smooth interior for effectively transferring the power of your central vacuum to the electric power nozzle, floor nozzle, or above the floor cleaning accessories.
- The hose has a comfortable grip with three position switch allowing independent control of the central vacuum or the central vacuum and power nozzle in combination for carpet cleaning.
- The hose is crush proof made of polyethylene co-polymers for years of reliable service.
- The hose end is direct connect designed to fit to the two major brands of direct connect inlets providing both the m low voltage for control of the vacuum and 120V to power the electric power nozzle.
- The 14" wide CT20QD power nozzle has a wood chevron agitator which carries the debris from the edges of the nozzle to the center for quick capture by the air stream of the vacuum.
- The CT20QD agitator is driven by a life time poly-V belt to reduce vibrations and noise. The drive belt is inset from the brush edge to allow for brushed edge cleaning to both sides of the power nozzle.
- A three position height adjustment allows the brush to be set to meet carpet conditions for more effective capture of embedded dirt and surface grooming of the carpet helping to maintain lefe and carpet appearance.
- A fully integrated telescopic electric wand delivers 120V power from the hose to the electric power nozzle. The wand can be adjusted to the length aligned with the user for comfortable use.
- A second set of chrome button lock wands connect from the hose to the all surfaces combination tool suitable for safe use on all types of hard floors, carpet and area rugs.
- A premium natural fill dusting tool, 13" crevice tool, and upholstery tool with brush strip takes care of above the floor cleaning needs.
- A hose hanger and mesh caddie are supplied to make it easy to store the hose and accessories when not in use.
Common Questions:
What is meant by direct connect?
Direct connect is the industry terms for central vacuum inlets valves designed to provide both the low voltage circuit necessary for controlling the on off of the central vacuum from the hose handle as well as a second position which powers both the central vacuum and the electric power nozzle four use when vacuuming carpeted surfaces. When the hose end is plugged into the inlet both the low voltage and 120V power are delivered into the hose.
How does the three position switch in the hose handle function?
There are three possible position for the switch to be set. Centered neither the vacuum nor the vacuum and power nozzle will come on. Switched left only the central vacuum comes on. This is the setting to be used when vacuuming hard floors or doing above the floor cleaning. Switched right and both the vacuum and the power nozzle will operate. This is the position to be used when vacuuming carpets.
Does this work with all central vacuums?
If your central vacuum was installed with direct connect inlets then yes. There were two major brands of direct connect inlets sold with central vacuums. This solution is designed to be compatible with both. You will see a plug located above the valve stem which matches a two pin plug on the hose end. As you insert the hose end into the valve both the low voltage circuit and 120V circuit are connected.
Is there anything else I should be aware of to know this will work with my system?
Yes. There was a proprietary valve sold with some Vacu-Flo systems which connected the low volt circuit through two pins above the valve stem. These inlets can sometimes be confused as being direct connect. You will notice the pin spacing is wider and it offers only a low volt connection so it will not work with this kit.
Can I use the CT20QD on hard floor surfaces to?
Yes. Know if is very important that when using the CT20QD on hard floor surfaces the agitator has to be turned off. You should use the switch setting which only powers the central vacuum. If the agitator is running when on hard floors it can scatter debris and potential harms sensitive hard floor surfaces.
What do you mean by the second floor nozzle being all floors?
The nozzle is designed to move from a hard floor surface to a carpeted surfaces and back again without the need to make any adjustments to the tool. This makes it very practical for homes where the floor surface changes frequently due to the use of area rugs or mats at the door laid over hard floor. Button lock keeps the wands positively connected to the hose and to the nozzle avoiding unintended separation.
Compatibility:
Compatible with all major brands of central vacuums installed with direct connect inlet valves. Since the two direct connect inlet designs where similar and were used by all major brands if you have a direct connect inlet this solution will work. Brands which were installed with direct connect inlets include, Beam, Canavac, Vacu-Flo, Vacumaid, Nutone, Broan, Imperium, Cyclovac, MD Manufacturing, and many more.
